Have you ever wanted to learn to crochet? The talented Anne Farmer from Ditsy Pips will be running a new, two part, 'Beginner's Crochet Course' here at Hill View Farm's The Bower. 

The cost of the course is £50/person and all the hooks, yarn, patterns, course materials and refreshments you will need are included.

Christmas Clay Printing

The very talented Julie Reilly will be hosting a clay workshop at our farm on the 28th October. During the class you will make Christmas gifts and decorations through clay printing. Using lace, leaves and dried flowers you will be printing clay and using the textured clay to create tea light holders and hanging Christmas decorations. (There will also be an added option to make simple jewellery pieces.)

It’s a perfect opportunity to sort a few Christmas gifts….if you can bare to part with your creations.

Costs of £55 include the following:

Materials: Clay and firing (£10p/p)

Tuition: £35 p/p (2.5hrs)

Courier delivery: (£10 p/p)

Learn to Dye Yarn.

Come and join me on my farm and learn to dye your own yarn. The day will be spent in my garden studio learning 3 different types of techniques. You will have the opportunity to blend your own colours and to dye 3 skeins of yarn.

All materials are provided and more undyed yarn is available to purchase if you have the time or if you have the desire to dye more.

Brioche Basics Part 1 - 13th June 2018 (Level 1)

This class will teach you all you need to know to get started on a brioche stitch project. We will cover:

  • Brioche stitch terminology 
  • How to knit brioche rib stitch 
  • How to read your brioche
  • Working brioche stitch in 2 colour

Materials:

4mm circular needles and 2 contrasting (one light and one dark) colours of DK-weight yearn

Brioche Next Steps - 11th July 2018 ( Level 2)

In this second part, students will learn: 

  • How to read a brioche stitch chart
  • Casting on and off, as well as edge treatments for 2-colour brioche stitch
  • Working increases and decreases

 

Skills Needed: 

Students should be confident, 2-colour brioche rib knitters. Please bring a swatch of 2-colour brioche with you. 

 

Materials: 

You will also need 4mm circular needles for this class as well as 50g of DK yarn (1 light and 1 dark colour)

Easter Egg Workshop - SOLD OUT

EVENT SOLD OUT

Join me for a morning of dyeing eggs naturally, marbling eggs and making a giant plaster cast egg.   

The possibilities are endless. Spend the morning exploring different mediums and have a beautiful display to take home just in time for Easter.
