Romania 2018

Romania Retreat October 2018

This exciting retreat will take place from the 15th October to the 19th October. We will spend five days  in the mountains of Romania, visiting local artisans, exploring local crafts and enjoying traditional cuisine. Our accommodation will be at the lush Pensiunea Bio Valeputna

The accommodation is a gorgeous cabin surrounded by mountains and woods. Each room has its own en-suite. The cabin has a hot-tub with views of the surroundings and river.  The scenery is breathtaking.  There will be ample delicious, freshly-prepared, traditional Romanian food with ingredients sourced locally.

I am delighted to be joined by Carole Poirot from Mademoiselle Poirot who will be our photography tutor. Carole will share her styling tips and also her knowledge on travel photography. If you feel that photography is your passion and you would like to create a career from it, Carole's advice will be priceless. Carole Poirot will be teaching photography and how to tell the story of your creative pursuits.  She has worked with multiple brands and has been featured in numerous well-established magazines and blogs including Country & Town House as well as Botanical Style.

Kate Whiting will be joining us to teach knitting. She will teach beginners the basics of knitting and more advanced knitters how to design their own shawls.

We will be going on excursions in the nearby area to traditional rug-weavers and a pottery studio.

Dinner will be served at 7pm. It will be freshly prepared with love and attention. After all, I believe that sharing a meal on the first night is an intimate experience where guests have the opportunity to get to know each other. After dinner we will relax by the wood burner, chatting, knitting, crocheting and of course enjoying delicious home baked cake.

Saturday morning after breakfast I will collect you from the B&B and bring you to the studio for a morning of yarn dyeing fun. Learn different types of dyeing techniques on yarn supplied by me which you get to bring home at the end of the weekend. (All materials provided)

We will knit or crochet until dinner. Once again the food will be lavishly prepared. While we chat and make, we will enjoy wine and deserts to keep our hearts content.  This is definitely a 'slow' retreat. The emphasis is on relaxing, making and creating a cosy warm glow, through company and delicious meals, to ward off Autumn chills.

Sunday morning after breakfast, join me on the farm for more time to indulge in mid morning tea and cake and working on the weekends projects.

A light lunch will be served and farewell is at 3pm.
